This interactive presentation draws on pre-pandemic research concerning online conference design and a review in progress of over eighty articles about online conferences which were written during the pandemic. The author will focus on accessibility of online conferences to underrepresented groups, enhancement of engagement in scheduled learning processes, and how to provide enlivening processes and spaces for networking, informal peer learning and social interaction.
