Supporting Incarcerated Students: A Call to Action and Models of Instruction

Wed, Oct 18, 10:00 to 10:50am EDT (10:00 to 10:50am EDT), Doubletree Main Conference Center - Seminole, Gold Coast IV

Short Description

Higher education in prison programs (HEPPs) provide opportunities for incarcerated individuals to develop and foster new skills and pursue formal and informal learning opportunities. While the number of HEPPs has grown over the last decade, incarcerated students remain an underserved student population. This session will highlight models of instruction and opportunities for instructional designers and educators to work collaboratively with incarcerated students to create programs that are inclusive, equitable, and support diverse learning outcomes.
