The purpose of this presentation is to provide an overview of collaborative learning in online teaching and learning, to examine current online collaborative learning based on a review of scholarly publications, and to keep up-to-date on the issues and challenges pertinent to online collaborative learning. By outlining some fundamental issues and considerations, the presentation discusses some challenges of online collaborative learning, and the effective strategies of facilitating collaborative learning in distance education.
