64. Impact of Virtual Reality on Developing Prospective International Teaching Assistants' Conversational English Proficiency and Situated Learning

Sun, Oct 15, 4:15 to 5:45pm EDT (4:15 to 5:45pm EDT), Doubletree Main Conference Center - Seminole, Seminole Ballroom

Short Description

This comparison study examines the effect of English conversational speaking simulations in two learning environments (F2F Classroom and Immersive VR) on developing prospective international teaching assistants’ conversational English proficiency and situated learning. While research suggests immersive VR can provide a realistic learning environment that can’t be provided in the traditional classroom (Huang & Liaw, 2011), the study aims to investigate which learning environment is better suited for developing conversational English proficiency and situated learning for international teaching assistants .
