The study empirically associates gamified learning and the SOLO taxonomy in the context of medical education. The findings of the this systematic literature review can inform the adoption of gamified learning strategies to help medical students attain cognitive learning outcomes grounded in SOLO taxonomy. Specifically, the study reviews the literature from gamified learning and its targeted learning outcomes in medical education, grounded in the SOLO taxonomy, from 2012 to 2022.
