Development of an Electronic Field Trip Conceptual Model for Vicarious, Place-Based, and Pro-Environmental Learning

Short Description

Electronic field trips (EFTs) emerged more than three decades ago, but have they reached their vicarious learning potential? A new conceptual model for EFTs is proposed and tested in this research. The Streaming Science Project connected hundreds of youth (grades 6-10) to university experts for five different interactive live webcasted EFTs about STEM topics from 2019-2022. Students’ qualitative post-survey responses were coded for ideal EFT vicarious learning components. Results and recommendations will be presented.
