Mon, Oct 16, 2:30 to 3:20pm EDT (2:30 to 3:20pm EDT), Doubletree Main Conference Center - Seminole, Seminole E and D

Short Description

Virtual reality (VR) has been heralded as a particularly promising technology for autistic people. However, prior studies have centered around curing or ameliorate deficits and impairments done by non-disabled and non-autistic researchers. This paper describes our endeavors in creating an innovative framework consisting of various techniques and approaches to encourage co-design and collaborative research with autistic individuals using extended reality. Preliminary analysis suggests that participants are satisfied with the goals and procedures undertaken in this project.
