Transatlantic Virtual Professional Development: Reflections on Lessons Learned and Future Directions

Short Description

This session examines a monolingual English-speaking research team’s online professional development of a Russian university teaching faculty. The training concentrated on essential elements of quality online courses. The team studied how university faculty self-report their knowledge and skills in applying ongoing assessment of distance learning after participating in web-based training. An essential consideration discussed is the multicultural adaptation of the researcher-developed self-administered questionnaire. Results impacting the future direction of cross-cultural online professional development are offered.
