Students’ perceptions of research skills and abilities in an online doctoral program

Short Description

The design and teaching of research methods courses that prepare students to complete dissertations can be challenging in online doctoral programs. This presentation focuses on the design of research methods courses and reports the results of an anonymous survey completed by program graduates and dissertating students. Students’ (N=26) perceptions of their abilities to critically analyze and synthesize research, conceptualize research designs, implement research in professional contexts, and write up research will be discussed.
