Playing Around: An Examination of Student and Faculty Experiences with a Virtual Classroom Simulation

Wed, Oct 18, 10:00 to 10:50am EDT (10:00 to 10:50am EDT), Doubletree Main Conference Center - Seminole, Gold Coast III

Short Description

This study examined student and faculty experiences with a virtual classroom simulation in an education course. Participants included 23 students and one faculty member. Data consisted of faculty interviews, classroom observations, and student reflections. Data were analyzed using collaborative ground-up coding. Results indicated that both the faculty member and students perceived benefits from using the simulation, indicating that teacher education programs should consider the use of simulations to enhance face-to-face field experiences.
