A Theoretical Framework to Support the Amplification of Native Voices within Education

Short Description

Developed within the BYU ARTS Partnership Native American Curriculum Initiative (NACI), the Native Voices framework extends the Wehipeihana Model of Indigenous Decision-making (2019) by identifying three categories of Indigenous perspectives and expertise. We will describe the Wehipeihana Model of Indigenous Decision-making, the Native Voices framework, application of the framework within NACI, and potential applications for teachers and instructional designers interested in amplifying Native voices in the classroom.
