27. Self-efficacy and Self-regulation in Interdisciplinary Design Teams: Towards a Three-Stage Framework

Sun, Oct 15, 4:15 to 5:45pm EDT (4:15 to 5:45pm EDT), Doubletree Main Conference Center - Seminole, Seminole Ballroom

Short Description

Guided by social cognitive theory, the presenters propose a three-stage framework that explains how team members’ self-efficacy interacts with their self-regulation, which, in turn, affect the interdisciplinary team design outcomes. This framework contributes to the literature by linking two key team learning constructs, self-efficacy and self-regulation, under the umbrella of ill-structured design problem-solving, which would inform the practice of problem-based learning in the context of interdisciplinary design teams.
