Supporting and Encouraging Self-regulation in an Online Course: Studying a Simple Intervention

Mon, Oct 16, 8:00 to 8:50am EDT (8:00 to 8:50am EDT), Doubletree Main Conference Center - Seminole, Sun & Surf IV

Short Description

With the growth of distance learning, long-established self-regulation theories have had to adjust and develop to meet the needs of the online modality. This session shares the results of research on a semester-long intervention designed to help preservice teachers increase their online self-regulation abilities. Results suggest that these students welcomed the opportunity to develop self-regulation and found that their self-regulation practices improved during the semester and in subsequent semesters.
