11. Perceptions of a Social Media Literacy Pilot for Middle School Students

Short Description

While nearly all adolescents are online “almost constantly”, a majority prefer to get their news from social media, and most have a least one social media account by high school, this population still struggles with evaluating information encountered in online spaces. During Spring 2023, our research team is designing, developing and implementing a curriculum on social media literacy for middle school students. This presentation will detail findings and discuss takeaways from our pilot curriculum.
