For teacher education programs to meet the growing need for K-12 teachers that can teach computer science (CS) it is important to understand preservice teachers' initial beliefs about CS and CS education. This study explores preservice teacher beliefs about CS and CS education by using a mixed-methods design and collecting data through surveys, classroom artifacts, and individual interviews. The results will add to the body of literature on teacher beliefs and inform teacher education programs.
