The purpose of this research is to explore the experiences of first-year nursing students with a patient-encounter experience that was designed using desktop virtual reality (VR), and to understand their perceptions and emotions associated with these experiences. The study involved conducting semi-structured interviews with 44 first-year nursing students from a nursing school at a large Midwest university, and the results reveal the perceptions of the participants regarding their experiences.
