Quality educational dialogue is essential for transformative teacher professional development (TPD). It facilitates inquiry and collaborative construction of complex conceptual and procedural knowledge. Such dialogical engagements need to be deliberately designed, initiated, and supported to be productive and mediate joint intellectual activity. This design case describes the structure and functionality of the Progressive Instructional Conversation template that guided online TPD courses design, together with experiences and lessons learned from its design, development, and implementation.
