Enacting Change: Examining the Instructional Designer’s Role in Higher Education through a Coaching Lens

Mon, Oct 16, 3:30 to 4:20pm EDT (3:30 to 4:20pm EDT), Doubletree Main Conference Center - Seminole, Space Coast I

Short Description

Research examining instructional design practices in higher education have noted that successful instructional designers are those that engage in collaborative relationships with faculty, mitigate conflict, and serve as change agents for their institutions. Many instructional designers serve in a coaching capacity providing support to faculty as they work to improve their course offerings. This session will offer heuristics to support instructional designers’ abilities to approach their working relationships with faculty through a coaching lens.
