Short Description

This systematic review of NSF virtual reality (VR) funded projects offers directions advancing educational technology. Out of 605 abstracts, 163 projects funded between 2015-2021 met inclusion criteria. Projects were coded by learning context, learning domain, subject, type of VR use, and special populations. We provide roadmaps illustrating funded projects and future research opportunities. Stakeholders will learn from this insight into the shifting trends driving the design, development, implementation, and integration of VR into classrooms.
