Can AR Promote K-12 Students’ Motivation? A Meta-Analysis

Tue, Oct 17, 9:00 to 9:50am EDT (9:00 to 9:50am EDT), Doubletree Main Conference Center - Seminole, Sun & Surf I

Short Description

This meta-analysis explores the effect of Augmented Reality (AR) on K-12 students’ motivation. We meta-analyzed a total of 37 primary studies with 118 effect sizes. The results showed that AR interventions on K-12 students’ motivation had a moderate effect size (ES = 0.51). Moderator analyses showed that the effect of AR-based instruction largely depends on the context and instructional considerations. Implications for educational practitioners and researchers are also discussed.
