Negotiating the Co-Design Process: Practice Advice for Instructional Designers

Short Description

Although co-design is perceived as an equitable approach, there is little guidance available in the literature on how to approach the co-design process while centering issues of justice and equity. This presentation focuses on three areas where tensions may emerge due to differing perspectives and/or issues of power during co-design -- roles, decision-making, and project ownership. We address each area from a critical, cultural, and ethical perspective, using examples from our own co-design and research projects.
