Short Description

Individuals often take online professional development to improve their understanding of their profession. Nevertheless, the question remains, “What factors lead to a transformation of an individual?” This session will examine the themes & factors derived from the experience of academic advisors in short-term, asynchronous, online professional development as it relates to the changes in their beliefs, values, & advising practices using the lens of Meizrow’s Transformational Learning Theory (Dirkx et al., 2006; Mezirow, 1981; 2003).
