Shakespeare and Social Presence: The Power of Virtual Reality in Remote Education

Tue, Oct 17, 7:00 to 7:50am EDT (7:00 to 7:50am EDT), AECT Virtual Sessions, Zoom Room 7

Short Description

This research on using virtual reality in remote education examined students’ social presence and knowledge of Shakespearean works after participating in an eight-week virtual reality intervention. Although separated by vast distances, students used virtual reality headsets to learn about Shakespeare while traveling to various virtual worlds. This research provides evidence that powerful social connections can be developed through remote educational experiences using virtual reality.
