This paper describes a case study of designing a Virtual-Reality educational tool to deliver information about Sickle Cell disease. This paper presents preliminary findings of prototype testing results on participants’ perceptions of virtual reality experience. Our paper contributes to patient and healthcare education by providing an example of using VR as an effective method to improve healthcare outcomes. Moreover, we attempt to increase awareness of this disease and advocate more attention to better support this underrepresented population.
