Autism is a neurodevelopmental disorder that affects individuals of different genders, ages, races, ethnicities, and socioeconomic backgrounds throughout their lives. One area of multidisciplinary research that shows promise in this field is Virtual Reality (VR). To explore this further, a project was conducted to review scholarly interest in VR applications for autistic individuals. The analysis was based on a selection of 215 empirical papers out of 1,050 papers retrieved from the Web of Science database.
