Exploring Online Learners’ Metacognition through the Lens of the Community of Inquiry Framework

Tue, Oct 17, 1:30 to 2:20pm EDT (1:30 to 2:20pm EDT), Doubletree Main Conference Center - Seminole, Gold Coast II

Short Description

In the present study, we aim (1) to evaluate the structural validity of the metacognition instrument (Garrison & Akyol, 2015), (2) evaluate the construct validity and reliability of the shared metacognition instrument, and (3) to examine the interrelationship between learners' metacognition skills and their perceived teaching, social, and cognitive presences in online collaborative learning contexts. Participants are graduate students enrolled in a college of education online course. Significance and implications are discussed.
