This practice proposal reports on the development and application of a modularization framework for Massive Open Online Courses. Using the example of a MOOC provider that serves both academia and formal professional development equally, we outline the structural specifications of modularized MOOC offerings and a methodology for implementing course transformation. Findings from the co-development process open up the possibility of discussing the benefits and limitations of modularization and developing design recommendations for the field.
