This work in progress presents the experiences of pre-service teachers when asked to design websites for online learning in a school subject of their choice. Google sites and Google Classroom were used to design an interactive learning environment for one term in a subject, grade and topic of their choice but also to purposefully indigenize activities where applicable. Results indicate that pre-service teachers struggle to indigenize online teaching and learning activities with interactive technology applications.
