How pre-service teachers understand computational thinking is of growing importance. We examine the changes in understanding about computational thinking through a 3-hour workshop utilizing a pedagogy of play. Data included open-ended survey responses pre- and post-workshop. We use qualitative methods to better understand the changes in computational thinking skills and practices as well as supports they feel they may need in implementation. Results of this study will impact teaching computational thinking for preservice teachers in both formal and informal settings.
