Using a generative technology as a self-regulated learning tool in a programming class

Short Description

Artificial intelligence based generative technologies are becoming widely available in education. ChatGPT is one of them that people in higher education expect to see a big impact on their teaching practices. The purpose of this study is to examine students’ use of ChatGPT in a computer programming course. We argue that ChatGPT can be a useful assistive technology. However, students need to have more experience asking more knowledgeable and clear questions.
