Using Epistemic Network Analysis to Examine Network Knowledge Activities in a Twitter Conference Backchannel

Short Description

We used epistemic network analysis to examine conference participants’ knowledge activities for their professional development within a Twitter conference backchannel. The analysis focuses on the epistemic network connections among different activities. The strongest co-occurrence connection appeared between ‘Collect’ and ‘Construct’ among participants. Many practitioners engaged in ‘Collect’ and ‘Construct’, whereas scholars engaged in more complex activities such as ‘Curation’ and ‘Negotiation’. The results shed light on how participants engage in NKAs in Twitter conference backchannel.
