102. Co-Design Culturally Sustaining Learning Environments for Educational Equity

Sun, Oct 15, 4:15 to 5:45pm EDT (4:15 to 5:45pm EDT), Doubletree Main Conference Center - Seminole, Seminole Ballroom

Short Description

Students of two graduate courses, one in Learning Design and Technology (LDT) and the other in Teacher Education (TE), from two research universities, collaborated on some real-world projects to design and implement culturally relevant and sustaining technology-supported learning environments to achieve educational equity. Through cross-institution and cross-discipline collaboration, both instructors and students deepened their understanding of social and cultural issues involved in LDT and TE through interactive blogs, class discussions, reflections, and meaningful projects.
