The effects of gamified peer feedback on student writing in high school English Language Arts

Mon, Oct 16, 1:30 to 2:20pm EDT (1:30 to 2:20pm EDT), Doubletree Main Conference Center - Seminole, Sun & Surf I

Short Description

National assessments reveal writing deficiencies among most public high schoolers. Multiple cycles of feedback and revisions are critical for writing improvement, but these are unfeasible due to record-high student-to-teacher ratios. Gamified peer feedback addresses this problem as novice learners at different skill levels work to collaboratively build writing skills and knowledge while playing a game. This study examined the impact of gamification on the quality of peer feedback and writing improvement among high schoolers
