This study examines measures of mental fatigue in an online higher education setting. A systematic literature review was conducted by searching electronic databases related to education. A manual search was also performed to locate additional relevant articles. Sixteen articles were identified and comprehensively reviewed related to data collection tools used in mental fatigue. The identified instruments were classified into two dimensions, subjective category, and objective category. Most studies have utilized self-report questionnaires to measure mental fatigue in an online learning environment.
