Mental Fatigue in Online Learning Environments: Analyzing the Impact of Course Workload and Perceived Course Value

Mon, Oct 16, 10:00 to 10:50am EDT (10:00 to 10:50am EDT), Doubletree Main Conference Center - Seminole, Seminole B and A

Short Description

The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of course workload and perceived course value on students' mental fatigue. Data was collected from students through a batch of surveys of over 500 online students. Structural equation modeling revealed that course workload (difficulty, pace, and amount of work) had a direct negative impact on students' mental fatigue, while perceived value of the course (student interest and content relevance) had a positive influence through mental effort.
