In this session, we present trends and observations from an ongoing scoping review of adult learning in distance education. As we have combed through the literature, we have identified a gap in how adult learning is defined and measured. We will present current findings of how learning is or is not measured. Session attendees will be invited to reflect on these research findings and suggest transformations to improve the quality of research on adult learners.
