Educators recognize teaching science and arts together can increase student’s problem-solving and critical thinking skills. To transform their pedagogy, teachers need time to learn these skills, implement, and reflect collaboratively. This research implemented a professional learning opportunity for elementary teachers to make adaptations to science lessons with arts. Qualitative data collection and analysis focused on collaborative learning activities, lesson plan artifacts, and classroom implementation resulting in four themes: alignment, value, community, and professional learning.
