Higher Education Administrators' Perceptions of Online Programs: A Critical Discourse Analysis

Mon, Oct 16, 8:00 to 8:50am EDT (8:00 to 8:50am EDT), Doubletree Main Conference Center - Seminole, Space Coast II

Short Description

In this study, we explored the perspectives of 11 administrators (executive directors, chairs, deans, and provosts) over online programs working in U.S. higher education. We used critical discourse analysis to analyze how they talk about supporting online programs, including how they perceive what online programs need, how they assess those needs, and how they provide support. We’ll discuss findings about the administrator’s role and implications for practice and research.
