Using CAVE VR to facilitate students in learning complex atmospheric science: A pilot study

Mon, Oct 16, 3:30 to 4:20pm EDT (3:30 to 4:20pm EDT), Doubletree Main Conference Center - Universal, Universal E1

Short Description

This study investigates college students’ learning experiences in attending the Cave Automatic Virtual Environment (CAVE-VR) class for learning extratropical cyclones. The researchers conducted a pre- and post-knowledge test, a post-survey, and a follow-up interview. Results show that students' post-knowledge test scores improved compared to pre-test scores, although statistical significance needs to be strengthened. Additionally, most of the participants enjoyed the use of CAVE-VR technology, and perceived it positively impact collaborative learning experiences.
