74. Teaching Phonics to Japanese Students by Japanese Teachers with Technologies

Sun, Oct 15, 4:15 to 5:45pm EDT (4:15 to 5:45pm EDT), Doubletree Main Conference Center - Seminole, Seminole Ballroom

Short Description

This is a case study of the pilot project on teaching phonics to Japanese elementary students by Japanese teachers. We created teaching materials from open educational resources, in addition to existing materials. The Japanese teachers with limited English abilities managed to integrate technologies and teach phonics with the materials. Sixteen elementary students participated in a performance test and 70% of sounds were acquired.
