Short Description

A syllabus does more than communicate course goals, assignments, and schedule. Syllabi signal course climate, instructor values, and engagement expectations. This session connects syllabus elements with (a) instructor goals and priorities, (b) underlying philosophical stances, and (c) instructional strategies and approaches. Participants will have opportunity to discuss and problem solve challenges in their own courses and contexts, and will leave the session with resources and tools to assist in creating more inclusive syllabi and courses.
