Abstract

The purpose of this research was to study the design and implementation of two new online Masters programs for the impact that learning with technology had on helping teachers develop an inquiry stance toward teaching and learning, asking students to regularly and thoughtfully question, critique, and build on practice. We used teacher research methodologies for analysis and evaluation of curricular and methodological decisions that focused on the intersection of the online environment and goals related to an inquiry stance. With the increasing use of online learning contexts for part or all of a teacher education program, paying careful attention to how teachers develop these skills and attitudes is tantamount to supporting the K-12 children they teach.
