Sat, April 14, 10:35am to 12:05pm, Vancouver Convention Centre, Floor: First Level, East Ballroom B

Abstract

In this presentation we discuss the evaluation of a school-based professional development program focused on assisting teachers with the integration of 21st century competencies into the curriculum. This study sought to not only understand the program’s design and implementation, but to also assist school administrators and faculty in identifying areas for improvement and enacting meaningful change. Divided into four parts, the first section presents a literature review detailing various conceptions of 21st century competencies, the second section introduces the program under evaluation as well as its goals, context, and stakeholders, and the third section includes a discussion of the study’s design, data analysis, and findings. The final section includes recommendations for further evaluation.
