Crucial to the success of the Early College model is fidelity to the premise “to attract students who often are under-represented in college: minorities, students from low-income families and those whose parents never attended college” (New Schools Project, 2010). This paper will report on the findings at one Early College High School related to:
)How are students performing academically compared to traditionally-aged freshman and sophomores?
)In particular, how are under-represented students performing academically compared to traditional-aged freshman and sophomores?
)How do students in the Early College perceive their academic, social and emotional readiness for university work and culture?
)Is there evidence that the Early College model is contributing to increasing the high school completion rate?
