Tech-Savvy School Superintendents

• In Event: The Future of School Districts and the Superintendency: Issues of Governance, Restructuring, Induction, and Technology

Abstract

Preparing future-ready citizens who are technologically savvy, globally competent, and prepared to engage in a 21st century knowledge-based economy with applicable skills requires school and district leaders who are also a technology leader. The purpose of this presentation is to identify and describe the characteristics of a group of superintendents who have been identified as “tech-savvy” by eSchool News. Through telephone interviews, we investigate these superintendents to better understand what makes a tech-savvy superintendent.
