During the last two decades, the profession of teacher educators has increasingly received attention. In line with this development, a knowledge base of teacher educators has been developed, meant to inform teacher educators and inspire them to further improve their practice with the help of this knowledge base. This paper describes an evaluative study on the relevance and usefulness of this knowledge base consisting of ten domains. The results show that the knowledge base covers the right domains, contains new information and is useful for teacher educators. We discuss what these results mean for the professionalization and development of teacher educators.
