We examined the relationship between FSC and academic achievement by utilizing school-level data. The survey target is 111 public elementary schools in Ehime prefecture, Japan. These schools were chosen at random from 335 public elementary schools. We conducted achievement tests three times and a questionnaire survey once with the same cohort. Several previous studies recognized the direct effect of FSC by utilizing individual data. However, the direct effect of FSC had not been recognized until this study, which utilized school-level data. Academic performance at the school-level has been mainly explained by the school factor, rather than the family factor. Setting the mediated variables of school organization activities bonded the broken path between FSC and academic performance.
