Sustainability-Oriented Hybrid Learning Configurations

Abstract

With an increase in public-private partnerships new spaces emerge for vital coalitions that are both energizing and generative in engaging citizens meaningfully in sustainability issues. In parallel a blurring of the boundaries between formal, non-formal and informal learning, both virtual and real, is taking place. In this paper we will begin to outline the contours of sustainability-oriented hybrid forms of learning. The paper is empirically grounded in an on-going analysis of the current Dutch Learning for Sustainable Development Policy which has been designed to stimulate such learning configurations.
