Abstract

In this paper, I report on research of transformational change among 30 institutions focused on the processes of organizational sensemaking and its role in change. The case study project that draws on but expands Kezar's and Eckel's earlier work identifies how sensemaking is essential during implementation (not just initiation of change) and documents how sensemaking unfolds differently among bottom-up change processes.
