Abstract
This paper address a bifurcation of scholarship between educational researchers between those who study the intersectionality of issues of race, class, and gender, but tend to neglect the effects of market-based, neoliberal policies, and those who study market-based, neoliberal policies and their impact on education, but fail to address their differential impacts by race, class, and gender. This paper argues for a “new intersectionality” that integrates an analysis of political economy with race, class and gender.
